Increase ABILITY
without sacrificing AVAILABILITY.

We safely increase the velocity and accuracy of athletes through the following concepts:

  • 🔄 Hip-shoulder dissociation: the secret to "How does Mahomes do that?"
  • 🤸‍♂️ Increased range of motion: flexibility accommodates both strength and health
  • 👣 Efficient footwork patterns: throw with your legs, guide with your arm
  • 📹 Use of modern technologies: film analysis, radar, portable red-light therapy

Velocity + Accuracy = Flexibility + Mechanics

Elite QB and Pitcher Training

At Go Long Athletics, we specialize in helping quarterbacks and pitchers develop biomechanically-sound throwing techniques.

We focus on hip mobility, shoulder rotation, release point, extension, and developing a strong foundation in the legs.

Putting these techniques together allows quarterbacks and pitchers to throw harder, with increased accuracy, and lower arm stress.

As a coach, I'm always looking to grow by implementing new and helpful technologies into my programs. Check out the photo carousel for info on the tech we use, all at no extra cost to the athlete.

About Coach Long

Coach Devin Long

Coach Long on the sideline, 2025

Hey, I'm Coach Devin Long, and I started Go Long Athletics in 2026. At GLA, we are committed to helping young athletes reach their throwing goals by teaching healthy, repeatable motions. Young athletes are undergoing arm surgeries at an alarming rate these days, especially pitchers, and I'd like to do what I can to help reverse that trend.

To reduce injury risk, I prioritize flexibility and efficiency over max effort. Longevity comes from power and accuracy generated through the whole body, not just the arm. We never throw through pain, we listen and adjust. Pain is either a symptom of fatigue or biomechanical inefficiency, both of which should be addressed immediately and thoughtfully.

Although my playing days are over, I still throw every day; either for recreational sports, coaching sessions, with my friends, or playing fetch with my dog. Despite the high mileage on my arm, I have never had a throwing-related injury, and I throw harder now than I did at 21.

You can reach me at the form below. I'm excited to share what I've learned with the next wave of great athletes.
